Merry Christmas from Holme Valley Parish Council

Holme Valley Parish Council took a different approach in 2024 to celebrating Christmas and bedecking the town and villages of the Holme Valley.

This year, the Parish Council decided to offer grants of up to £250 to Holme Valley community groups and representatives to purchase, install and decorate Christmas trees in our communities.

The Parish Council has, in this way, funded Christmas trees in Brockholes, Hade Edge, Hepworth, Holmbridge, Holme, Honley, Netherthong x 2, New Mill, Scholes and Upperthong.

Separately, it has funded the main Holmfirth Christmas tree, – purchased from Kirklees Council, – and it has given grants totalling £2,250 to Holmfirth Christmas Team and Honley Business Association for the Christmas lights displays in the main centres.

The Parish Council hopes the people of the Holme Valley enjoy all the various Christmas displays.

The Parish Council would like to pass on our thanks to all those groups and individuals who have worked tirelessly to give the Holme Valley such beautiful Christmas displays.

Merry Christmas to everyone in the Holme Valley and, on behalf of the Parish Council, we wish you all a happy and prosperous 2025.
