About the Climate Action, Communications and Engagement Committee

From May 2023 onwards the CLIMATE EMERGENCY COMMITTEE and the PUBLICATIONS AND COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE merged to form the CLIMATE ACTION, COMMUNICATIONS AND ENGAGEMENT COMMITTEE (CASE) which will meet 4-5 times each year.

The remit of this Committee is to lead on the outward-facing work of the Parish Council. For this reason, unlike other committees, CACE has spaces for up to 6 non-elected, non-voting members as well as up to 13 elected members. Potentially, this makes for a large committee of up to 19 members.

Holme Valley Parish Council declared a climate emergency on 25th March 2019 and a key function of the committee is to engage with other groups in the community and other statutory groups to effect climate action.

Parish Council representation at community events is also part of CACE’s remit, as is oversight of all aspects of the Council’s external print and social media communications.
